Sith Warrior Impressions (SWTOUR)
Sith Warrior Impressions (SWTOUR)
blog_117_0.png

So, you probably have seen the Imperial Agent Impressions I posted a few days ago. The weekend was hectic, which is why this Impressions is coming out on Tuesday instead of Saturday.

After playing the Agent for most of the day on Monday, I made the decision that Tuesday I would play a couple of different classes, my first choice, with some advice from a few of the Bioware staff members (Thanks Robin and Allison), was the Sith Warrior. David Bass was kind enough to create one for me that was a Sith Pureblood, and off I went.

Note this is not the character I played... he's much cooler looking

This post "should" follow a rough format of (same as my last Impressions article)

  • Story
  • Gameplay
  • Overall

"Story"

Again, I will state that I won't go into any great detail on the story.

From the start, I got the feeling that everyone was kind of out to get me, which, being a Sith is kind of all about that, so kudo's Writers! The Dialog was fantastic, and depending on some of the choices you make, you can actually sound fairly nervious about being on Korriban, OR you can be a full on Arrogant Sith, who sounds like he's ready to either serve, or userp the Emperor, depending on your mood.

The story quests are great, and the side quests generally fit in nicely with them, usually leading to about the same place, with some minor wanderings, and usually encountering roughly the same creatures, so they don't really feel like side quests. Some of the Quest NPCs made me feel slightly uncomfortable, but thats just cause they were really odd, not in a bad way, but personality wise, they were just "That Guy". All in all though, the story portion of the Sith Warrior is one i'm looking forward to, and as my Primary Alt, I'm really looking forward to moving past level 5.

"Gameplay"

The gameplay for the Sith Warrior was pretty basic, you start off with just a couple of skills, (compaired to the Agents half dozen) and you really do feel like a mini tank right off the bat, that might just be part of the heroic combat system, but the ability to take on 5 to 6 even level creatures is just fun to me.

As you gain skills, obviosly there is more to do, a few more things to keep an eye on, but the pace also picks up a bit, you get your first AOE attack, which helps a bit, but you never feel underpowered. You also start moving further into the Tombs and Catacombs, and its very very cool. Now as I said in our last podcast, the Planet Korriban is by far the most beautiful planet i've seen so far, and it just keeps getting better the further you go.

"Overall"

I'm looking forward to seeing where the story and mechanics of the Warrior take me once live comes, Consular will still be my main, but the Warrior will definitely be a favored Alt. Now, whether I go Juggernaught of Marauder, thats a question for another Article.

The Sith Warrior will be my main. I will be going Jugg as the Marauder is a touch too "squishy" for me... much like the Rogue in WoW.
