This post isn't going to be one riddled with Reveals or threaded with tons of information, thats not why we went to PAX, we went to support those sites we knew were going, to meet up with people before and after they got to play the game, and to just enjoy the community that is TOR.
With that being said however, we did get 5 interviews, Stephen Reid, James Ohlen, Daniel Erickson, Corey butler, and Hall Hood, ontop of several community impressions, which we'll be sprinkling around as we do some minor editing and stuff.
But i digress, back to impressions! This was my first time going to PAX, Lordhammer had made it out to PAX Prime, so he had some idea what to expect, but for me, this was just amazing...
Friday - We spent most of the day working for Guildlaunch actually, since they were the ones who made it possible for us to be there, we ended up getting 6 interviews done for them between the two days. We did however, manage to make it to the TOR booth for the Friday update before we started working :). Friday night came the DH Party, and I will have to admit, I really wanted to go, but my wife was home sick, and I needed to be with her, so unfortunately, I had to miss that.
Satureday - Our Day of TOR! We started off the day as the first "non-media" media group to get to play the Taral V demo, what does that mean? well... we're no TOROcast, MER, DH or Massively.... so we got to wait. But all in all, it was well worth the wait. We started off just trying to decide who was going to do what, Lordhammer got the opportunity to finally play something other than the smuggler, he was the Consular this time around, and looked like he was really enjoying it! shhh Don't tell the guys from UMBRA :), I opted to tank, so I pulled up the Trooper, which, suprised me as to how easy it came, and was a completely blast, no pun intended. We also had a representitive from StarWars-Scum with us, who offtanked as the Jedi Knight, and we had Tym from Platform Nation who came in as our Healing Smuggler... thats right, they had the primary healer set up as the smuggler, which worked pretty well.
Now... We started off just blowing through trash, well, i cant say that, we started off actually in the wrong instance, so they had to reset our demo, but we were technically the first group to "play" the second TARAL V Flashpoint *wink* I say play as in our guide went oops as we all got inside and then reset the demo... Anyway, back to Flashpoint 1 we went. We only had 45 minutes total, and so we tried to rush through the trash as quickly as possible, the whole time our guide leaning over our shoulders saying "You're doing great on time". well, that was a good thing, because we actually wiped on the Main boss.... twice... however, we did manage to Down both the bosses with over 5 minutes to go... and our prize for doing so? we all got T-shirts, and Hats of our choosing! later on in one of our interviews, we were asked if we were given our hats or if we earned them, we were one of the few groups at that point who could say we earned them! what an experience!
The rest of the day was spent really talking to people, Getting to know the guys from MER, TOROCast, Jen'Jidai, AskaJedi, Kathy and Roxanne from CRR, hanging out with Dover from DH, Chev ketal (fumbles) and Mr. Fester from Guild Umbra, and our very own HereticZero, and we spent a few minutes talking with the group from TIG who was there en force. all of which, having spoken to online for so long, felt like friends you just havent seen in a long time, it was great, and As it was stated at the Massive MosDarthCorellianAskaSyndiCast that went on Saturday evening before the Meet and Greet event, the Fansite / Guild / Podcast Community for TOR is just so Amazing, that everyone can get together, and just have fun, with no preconceptions or contention. It was truely a great time.
The Meet & Greet! -
sorry to say, it was a bit lack luster, It wasn't Bioware's fault, honestly, there was just to big of a reaction to the event, so everyone who got an invite came, which essentially made the event over crowded. they actually had to split the event into two smaller ones to get everyone in, and it still felt like there was almost 600 people in a room that was only meant to hold 200. Professor Walsh got called out, and wasnt allowed to answer any questions in the give away portion, which was sad, and the Q&A portion was very short just due to having to get the second group in, but all in all, it was a good time.
Walked away from the Party with a Signed poster by James Ohlen, and an Empire shirt for my wife, yes, I said empire... how messed up is that... she decided after watching the friday update at the booth that "she could really get into TOR" which made me smile.
I'll leave you all with that, expect our video's to be up later this week, as Lordhammer will be getting home around then, and I will be editing them as soon as i get them.
It was a great time, and I so look forward to the collaboration efforts that come out of this amazing community after all of this.

It sucks that it was so crowded in all respects, but that also gives me hope that the game is destined for greatness.
Thanks Vall
